Formula One is Fake
I was interested in auto racing even before I was old enough to drive, and to me the international, Europe-based Formula One series was the most interesting of all. But these days I'm quite fed up with the way it's being run. It seems there is only one rule that the organizers enforce: thou shalt not beat Ferrari. A few years ago they made a nonsensical reinterpretation of the rules in mid-season that forced the Renault team to change the design of their car in a way that slowed it down (their driver won the championship anyway, amazingly). Now McLaren is the team that threatens Ferrari, and so it's their turn to be the victim of a long series decisions that penalize McLaren and their drivers, and benefit Ferrari and their drivers. It has reached the point where the fun of the spectacle of F1 is overshadowed by the spectacle of the FIA's heavy-handed attempts to ensure that Ferrari wins every year, whether they have the best cars and drivers or not. It's just not much fun any more.
